Day 59 – Taking the Long Way

Didn’t bother to go to sleep last night since I had to leave my place by 2:30 am to catch a bus to the airport (no subway available this time of night) that would get me there in time for my early morning flight. Its going to be a long travel day as I have 2 connections and I’m not exactly headed in the most direct route to OAK. First it was to Houston, then to LA and finally a short trip to SF. I slept on all 3 flights even the SF one which was only about 40 mins.

Once I had arrived at SF airport I then had to take the BART train up around to the other side of the bay and then down south of OAK to Hayward where my hotel was. It was hard to imagine it was only about 3:30 in the afternoon given how long I had been traveling. I guess that’s what happens when you gain 3 hrs due to time change.

Once I was all checked in it was off to McAfee Coliseum. The coliseum is not a nice stadium, very plain. The high stands in the OF take away any view you might have and it kind of makes you feel indoors and not at an outdoor stadium. I guess that’s what happens when you use a football stadium. I hope OAK goes ahead w/building a new stadium, they sure could use it.

Speaking of outdoors, I thought California was supposed to be warm, especially in May. I actually had to wear my sweater and there were several people near me who were layering on jackets and blankets.
