You have to love these outing from Halladay. Giving up just 4 hits, no walks and just 1 run while going the distance in a game that took just 2 hrs 14 mins to play. Halladay was sharp all game but he really settled in retiring the final 15 batters. Halladay only threw 7 first pitch balls out of the 31 hitters he faced.
That catch by Hill in the 7th may be the best play I have ever seen live. I couldn’t believe he was able to range that far.
Marco Scutaro came up big in the game w/2 2-out 2-run singles. Impressive day from the 4 and 5 spots in the order as Rolen and Overbay combined to reach base all 8 times they came to the plate, going 5 for 5 w/3 BB’s.
As for the stats:
NAdv: Mench 2 (4)
P-NAdv: Greinke, Mahay
WG: Gathright, Dejesus, Stewart (2), Hill (5)
