Day 61 – Sea Lion Spotting

After the afternoon game I made my way across the bay to SF. I was walking downtown and managed to see a sign for AT&T Park (or whatever it is called now) so I followed the signs to the ballpark. It certainly looks like a nice park from the outside and the brief glimpse I got inside from beyond the OF wall by McCovey Cove. I definitely want to actually go see a game there; Maybe once OAK gets a new ballpark I’ll take in the both of them.

From the ballpark I walked along the bay for awhile then headed back into the main streets. It is amazing how steep some of the streets are. It wasn’t easy walking up them, but it was just exhausting. It may actually have been harder coming down b/c you really had to control yourself.

I managed to make my way to Fisherman’s Warf and saw the Sea Lions that have taken up residency at Pier 39. I also could see Alcatraz from the pier. And before I knew it it was time to head back to my hotel to pick up my bags as I had an 11:00 bus to catch.

I had to transfer buses at San Jose and I got there a little before midnight. The bus to LA was scheduled for 12:40 am. The only problem was they close the bus station at that time of night so I had to wait outside the terminal. I’ll continue from SJ in tomorrow’s blog.
