Day 49 – Sports Central

When I woke up I decided I needed a break from all the sightseeing so I took a book w/me and went to a nearby park and just sat and read for awhile. Of course w/the afternoon game tomorrow on getaway day I figured I should get some sightseeing in since this is my only day to do so in PHI. So I headed downtown to check out Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. It took me a little longer than expected to get there and so my time was pretty brief, but enough to take a quick walk through.

From downtown it was then on the ballpark and it was a much nicer night so it was easier to enjoy the stadium. The ballpark is south of downtown and is located near both the Eagles football stadium (Lincoln Financial Field) and the Wachovia Center (76ers and Flyers) as well as the Wachovia Spectrum, which I believe is a concert hall or something similar. I like the idea of having all your sports stadiums in one location and even though it is a few miles out of downtown there is a subway stop right by the stadiums making it easily accessible.
