Given the afternoon game today I had originally thought about going to the US Open after the game. However, when researching tickets they didn’t have a very favourable refund policy should a cession get rained out given I could only really go that night. I decided I would just wait until closer to the event to try and get tickets, that way I would have a better idea of the weather forecast. Given they were calling for rain today I decided against going and instead headed down to ground zero after the game (I originally planned to go in the morning if I was going to go to tennis at night). A tennis major will have to wait for another year.
It was kind of hard to really get
the sense of what the area looked like before, having never seen the area as it was in person just on TV. Now it just looks like one big construction site. I took some time just walking around seeing what was left. It certainly was not one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had on my odyssey.

From there I just walked around exploring the area. I made my way to the water where you could see the Statue of Liberty. Eventually I called it a night and went looking for a subway stop to make my way back to the hotel.
