Day 125 – Hotel Conversions

I needed to take the early city bus to the airport in Buffalo so I had to walk to the bus stop from the greyhound station. Despite the baggage charge for checking even one bag I’m still flying USAir on this trip since even w/the $15 tacked on this was still the cheapest flight. To make matters worse, as we are on the flight they announce that as of today they will now be charging for soft drinks, juice, water etc. on board. Although they were nice and still provided them free of charge for this flight. However, as I was waiting for my connection in PHI, they announced there that they would be charging for drinks on board. So immediately after the announcement you see a bunch of people go to buy some stuff for the flight. The funny thing is you’re probably paying more to buy it somewhere in the airport than you would on the flight. Right now this doesn’t affect me a whole lot b/c at the times I’m flying, I’m always sleeping on the plane anyways and missing the stewards/stewardesses.

Arrived in Dallas in the afternoon and got a shuttle to take me to the hotel in Arlington. I was staying at a recently converted hotel (from Best Western to Days Inn) so my driver actually took me to the wrong Days Inn in Arlington. Once I showed him the address he was able to find it ok though.

This is a different hotel than I stayed at last time. It is a little further of a walk to the ballpark, probably around 2 – 2.5 miles. The walking wasn’t easy as the temperature was over 100. I had to try and find any place I could along the way where I could get some water.
