Game 90 – Finally

Finally the Jays are on the right side of a walk-off. It took 90 games but they have their 1st walk-off win. All it took was a 2-out ground ball right at Bynum and he let it go right through his legs.

This wasn’t just a game the Jays blew a lead and they reclaimed victory. The Jays found themselves down 6-2 before batting around in the 7th scoring 4 runs to tie it, setting up the exciting 9th.

McGowan wasn’t exactly dealing out there but for the 2nd straight start he got pulled awfully early. Last start it was after 76 pitches in 6 innings, this time it was 66 pitches over 4 innings. McGowan had given up 4 runs (only 2 earned) and 4 hits in his 4 innings of work.

I don’t like bringing in a reliever to have him intentionally walk the 1st guy like Cito did w/Downs. If you’re going to walk him use the guy already in there then make the switch. The reason being I don’t want a guy coming in fresh and then being forced to throw 4 straight balls.

I would have PH Zaun for Barajas to start the 7th. At that point you are down by 4 and need baserunners (Zaun has a much better OBP) plus there is a RH on the mound. Of course what happens, Barajas gets a 1B and starts a 4-run rally.

For the record, the Jays were 4 for 11 w/RISP compared to the Orioles 2 for 5.

Here are the stats:
NAdv: Rolen (6)
P-NAdv: Cabrera
